Questing fun…

Going through the goggle reader today. I noticed a few posts that caught my eye about questing in WAR and how it can possibly be improved. Syp started it off with Making up The lore While Dont and Regis added their thoughts in 3 Ideas For Improving Quests and Creating Epic Quests Being a big quest-er in WAR due to my play time (off peak hours = deserted RvR lakes) I find myself in front of a lot of quest text.   As we all know questing is pretty straight forward in WAR, pick up a quest check your map for the red blob run down kill 5 bats pick up 3 stones or rummage though a mangled corpse.  Reading the lore in the text brings more meaning to what you are doing, but honestly how many people have the time to read all that!?

Something I had always wished MMO’s had was a log of all the completed quests.  Seeing as we have the mighty ToK  that records everything we do why not add a tab for completed quests?  Or they can be added to the war story under each tier linking all completed quests to that given tier.  That way when people who don’t have time to read everything besides the description have a chance to read the lore at a later point, be it waiting on a BO timer to click over, when crafting or just want something to read.  Least then all the hard work the writers have put in isn’t going to waste.

Something else I have been thinking about to bring more oRvR to WAR is more PvE style quests in the rvr lakes.  These quest could be easy as rescuing fallen npcs, stopping an invasion on the warcamp (using the cannons already setup) or simpling kill 10 trolls or what ever npc is in that zone. They can be set as repeatable quest once a day like the BO’s and kill quests that are already available.  These quests could also give besides the obvious XP, a little Renown and Influence.  Hopefully this would bring a little more orvr during offpeak hours as well.
