1.2 and the Flu

Well, the Bitter Rivals event is finished and 1.2 is now one week old. Unfortunately I was down and out with the flu all week. (Better known as Influenza type B here in Japan.) Luckily the day before the event wrapped up I was feeling well enough to get in an hours worth of play time. Allowing me to complete the Bitter Rivals event and unlock the two careers a week early. I must say that this event has been one of the easiest events Mythic has released thus far. Although a little bland, and a scenario that was lag infested and crash ridden the over list of things to do was pretty simplistic.
Not having see much of 1.2 besides the Bitter Rivals event and my brief time spent on the PTS. I think Pancakez over at breakfast at war may have had some very valid points in his post seriosuly bitter…. rivals? about the over all feel 1.2 had. I do love some of the new features, but also think that those features should have already been in the game at release. One might go as far as to question Mythic’s approach to testing. I for one know, when I was on the PTS I focused mostly on the Choppa and Slayer’s . Of course I reported bugs and frame glitches as they came up, but never really went out of my way to find any bugs none related to either of those two careers. As he stated, one week to test 50 pages of re-balancing and bug fixes plus 2 new careers is hardly enough time to get any proper testing done in my opinion. Now if it was a month of testing with the last week open to everyone that might be a little different. At least than some solid testing would have gotten in before the flood gates were opened.
